A dream from Buenos Aires, built in Maui.
Fuego began with a simple idea: bring the food, warmth and tradition of an Argentine asado to the island our family came to call home.
Years ago, Pablo left Buenos Aires for Maui in search of a better life. He carried with him the flavors he grew up with and a dream of one day sharing them here. That dream was one he shared with his best friend, Ruben.
It all begins with a dream.
Before Fuego was a restaurant, it was an idea carried across an ocean. Pablo came to Maui from Buenos Aires with ambition, family recipes and a deep connection to the way people gather around food back home.
Over the years, that idea stayed with him and with his longtime friend Ruben: create a place where the food of Argentina could feel at home in Maui, and where people could slow down, share a meal and enjoy the table together.
To us, an asado has never been only about what is on the grill. It is friends and family pulling up a chair, plates being passed around, conversation getting louder, and staying at the table longer than you planned.
That is the feeling we wanted to bring to Fuego — a place for good food, laughter, conversation and the kind of memories that happen when everyone is gathered around the same table.
That is what Fuego means to us.
An asado is more than dinner. It is the reason everyone gathers.
Pull up a chair. Stay awhile.
Come for the Argentine cooking, stay for the conversation, and make the table your own.
